Alphaville Records returns to action with Simic, and his carefully crafted “Under Control EP”. The Brooklyn based producer presents an EP of four understated, spicy wontons, following the Alphaville ethos of having a cut suitable for all flavours of the dance floor.
The A-side kicks off with the title track “Under Control”, a housey groover guided by one of Simic’s trademark melodies. Next up is “Aquarian Age Groove”, a chuggy, evolving dance floor weapon primed for the bag. On the flip side the sample filled “CinemaScope” leads the way, before the final track “Nimbus (Amoeba Mix)” fully submerges you underwater with its wide hypnotic, rolling rhythms.
